New Song Missionary Care

The attrition rate among missionaries has dropped from 12,000 a year to 5,000 a year. The huge drop is due to the realization that missionaries need care, especially because of the added stress of living in a different culture. The two things I hear most from missionaries is that no one wants to hear our stories or believes them. This blog was created to give you a place to share your stories and to know that they are believed in hopes that you will not be included in that attrition rate.

Missionary Care

After talking to a missionary today, she suggested I start a blog. This blog is here for you to talk about whatever you need to talk about.

I was a missionary in Kazakhstan for 3 years. It was through my own needs while I was a missionary and lack of care upon my return, that God birthed in me a passion to help other missionaries. I began to go to every kind of training that I could to prepare myself for this, including Pastors to Missionaries, and Mental Health and Missions Conferences, a Ph.D. in Christian Counseling, training in Elijah House and Theophostic prayer ministry, and training from Wycliffe on crisis debriefing. I am also a certified coach for a Cross-Cultural Assessment called Cerny Smith Adjustment Index (CSAI) which can be taken via internet with follow-up with me via SKYPE.
